Students in kindergarten, first grade, and English language learners will resume hybrid learning, switching back to the model that was being used prior to the Thanksgiving break.
Late last month, Stratford Schools Superintendent Janet Robinson announced that the district would be going all-virtual through at least Friday, Dec. 4 due to a rise in cases in the area, which has been designated as a COVID-19 “red zone.”
Parents in Stratford who are uncomfortable sending their children to class can continue learning remotely, school officials said.
In the last week, students or staffers at five Stratford schools tested positive for the virus - Bunnell High School, Chapel School, David Wooster Middle School, Eli Whitney School, and Harry B. Flood Middle School - according to the state’s school COVID-19 dashboard.
According to the Connecticut Department of Health, there have been 348 new COVID-19 cases in the past two weeks. All but nine municipalities across the state have been designated as “red zones,” due to spikes in cases.
